According to Jon Peddie Research estimations, 54 million people around the world play PC games, hitting $ 23,6 billion in 2012. The prediction is for PC gamers to reach 72 million by 2015! Factors which allowed this to happen are new machines and technologies from companies such as Intel, HP and NVIDIA and highly expected games like Diablo 3 and Crysis 3. “We are witnessing the market morph and grow into different areas. This has always been a strong point of PC gaming; the ability to adapt to different entertainment environments and requirements”, says Ted Pollak, Senior Gaming Analyst.
Besides that, after an analysis in 33 countries JPR found a very strong demand from BRIC (Brazil, India, Russia and China) for systems, accessories and upgrades, approaching nearly $5 billion in 2012.
